ERASMUS: ABOVE ALL, AN INTERCULTURAL ADVENTURE
2025-03-26 17:25:53
Intercultural dialogue refers to constructive and positive interactions between people or groups who are culturally different from each other.
This process is a central aspect and challenge of the Erasmus program.Indeed, Erasmus mobility enables students and professionals from different countries and social backgrounds to interact, exchange, and share their experiences.
Of course, participating in an intercultural exchange can initially be confusing and uncomfortable for students and professionals. It often requires them to invest in and surpass themselves and to question some of their perceptions. However, the benefits of the intercultural adventure have become apparent: an understanding of other cultures and social contexts as well as the ability to adapt and communicate.
In our team, we find this dimension of the Erasmus program fascinating. We are doing everything we can to promote it through joint cultural actions and activities in our city, which has been a member of the Council of Europe'sIntercultural Cities program since 2020. As a reminder, this European program, initiated by the Council of Europe and the European Commission in 2008, aims to strengthen and promote intercultural integration based on diversity, equality, and cohesion. With each Erasmus mobility, we are delighted to see the links and relationships that are forged between students and professionals from different backgrounds.
Cultural interaction is undoubtedly an essential element in shaping global citizens who are aware of modern challenges and ready to meet them.
